Staff Biographies

Judith Glynn, M.Sc., Acting CEO, Director, Grants Operations

The Director of Grants Operations works in collaboration with the CEO to create strategic and long term plans for the approval of the Board of Directors, and implement processes and approaches to achieve approved strategic goals and objectives. This position also:
  • serves as the internal leader of the organization
  • coordinates the annual operations plan and budget
  • leads the performance management processes that measure and evaluate progress against goals for the organization
  • directs and manages the Centre’s research awards program: builds research capacity, continuously improves the quality of funded research, and ensures the translation of research knowledge to end users

Judith Glynn is Director of Grants Operations at the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre. She has held senior positions with the Government of Ontario in gambling, economic development, health care, social services and agency reform; most recently, managing government communications on Gaming. Judith has also served on the Board of Directors of The Arthritis Society for more than a decade, chairing the Advocacy Committee, annual conferences and special events.

Erika Veri Levett, Grants Officer

The Grants Officer administers the Centre’s research awards program and provides project planning and monitoring support for all partnership and directed research projects.
 
Erika Levett's academic background and administrative experience are well suited to her role with the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre. Her volunteer work has included therapeutic programs for the elderly and counseling to prepare incarcerated men for life after release. Erika received her BA in Sociology and Legal Issues from the University of Waterloo and an Addiction Studies diploma from McMaster University.
 

Patrick Moore, M.A., Knowledge Translation Officer

The Knowledge Translation officer is responsible for implementation of the Centre’s Knowledge Translation strategy, including acting as webmaster. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining innovative information technology resources for the Centre’s website, and other vehicles that consolidate and organize information for the research community, and translate research knowledge for the end-users of the Centre’s research output.

Patrick Moore is Knowledge Translation Officer at the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre. He has extensive experience in communications, journalism and web design. Patrick has worked as a journalist and editor for both daily and weekly newspapers, a Communications Director for the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) and the Canadian Plastics Industry Association and has been a web designer for more than 10 years. At the CCNA, Patrick developed the first national community newspaper advertisement web application and helped develop ComBase, North America's largest media study, measuring in excess of 400+ individual Canadian markets and providing insightful data on cities, towns and villages across the country.

Kathleen Miller, Executive Assistant

Under the direction of the CEO, this position provides primary support to the Board of Directors and the CEO, and manages the Centre’s financial and administrative structures and relationships.

Kathy graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a major in psychology. Following a number of years as a stay at home Mom raising two children, Kathy worked in the non-profit sector in Ontario for 12 years.

In 2000, Kathy relocated to the United States where she and her husband Jim lived in eight states over the next eight-and-one-half years. In the United States Kathy enjoyed a varied and educational work history. She worked primarily as an Executive Assistant supporting high profile Chief Executive Officers and Presidents in a cross section of industries. Kathy also worked in labour relations on the largest nuclear clean up site in the world, as an event planner in New York City, and in her last position in the United States as Office Manager for a large recognition company.
